Bio
I began my educational experience working in aftercare and as a teacher's assistant. I attended MDC to obtain the necessary certifications to work with children, including my Director's credentials. I obtained my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from FIU. I have experience working with students from preschool through middle school. I have been a substitute teacher, taught religion to middle and elementary students, and I also taught science and History to elementary students. Additionally, I teach American Sign Language as an after-school activity. Lastly, I am the director of our summer camp musical show every year. In the classroom, making connections with the students is very important. If students can connect with you, they are more likely to give their all. I build my students up by letting them know they are smart and can do anything they put their minds to. I connect what we are learning in the classroom to real-life situations so students can relate to the material. I build relationships with the students and help them to build relationships with one another. I encourage students to ask questions and make suggestions.
I help my students feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. My classroom is a loving and happy place my students want to visit. I also help my students learn responsibility and accountability.
