Bio

Shaniqua Jones is a middle school Math and Science teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Having moved between Brooklyn, New York and Miami, Florida, she brings a diverse perspective and understanding of the unique needs of students in urban communities. She has worked with the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Education, and several nonprofit organizations. Ms. Jones brings over 10 years of experience in social services and 9 years of instructional experience, including work at the collegiate level.

Her professional experiences within both the juvenile justice and education systems have ignited a passion for serving disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. Those professional experiences have also strengthened her commitment to addressing disparities in urban communities through education, advocacy, and support. 

In her classroom, Ms. Jones strives to create a warm and welcoming environment that promotes the academic and social-emotional well-being of each student. Her favorite part of teaching is building meaningful bonds with her students and watching their confidence grow as they discover their abilities and reach their full potential.
